Die Autoren befassen sich in diesem Buch eingehend mit der Theorie von Regulation und Reputation und dem Verhältnis der beiden Begriffe und Konzepte zueinander. Das Augenmerk gilt im Speziellen dem Finanzplatz Schweiz und seinen Standorteigenschaften. Eingehend wird die Frage behandelt, welchen Beitrag die Regulierung sowie die Bankenaufsicht und deren konkrete Tätigkeit (Enforcement) an den Ruf des Finanzplatzes leisten. Da die innerbetriebliche Organisation durch die Regulierung insgesamt und die Finanzmarktregulierung im Besonderen beeinflusst ist, wird weiter hinterfragt, inwiefern die einzelnen Institute daraus einen Nutzen ziehen können. Zudem wird untersucht, ob darüber hinausgehende Regeln für die Unternehmen einen Mehrwert schaffen. Die am Institut für Finanzdienstleistungen Zug IFZ der Hochschule Luzern verfasste Studie stellt 10 Thesen auf, welche mit einer Online-Umfrage bei Praktikern überprüft wurden. Das Buch richtet sich an Leser, welche an Themen wie Corporate Governance, Compliance sowie am Finanzmarkt interessiert sind. Monika Roth, Prof. Dr. iur., Advokatin, hat an der Universität Basel Recht studiert und 1981 das Anwaltspatent erworben. Später hat sie die Swiss Banking School abgeschlossen. Sie wirkte u.a. während 15 Jahren im Banken- und Beratungssektor und ist heute als selbständige Anwältin und Beraterin tätig. Am Institut für Finanzdienstleistungen Zug IFZ der Hochschule Luzern – Wirtschaft ist sie im Nebenamt Studiengangsleiterin für Compliance Management und Dozentin. Mario Erni, MLaw, hat an der Universität Luzern Recht studiert. Im Sommer 2008 erfolgte der Abschluss des zweisprachigen Doppelmasterstudiums an den juristischen Fakultäten der Universitäten Luzern und Neuchâtel. Sein Studium richtete er auf wirtschafts- und steuerrechtliche Themen aus, die im Rahmen eines mehrmonatigen Praktikums vertieft wurden. Seit Februar 2008 ist er wissenschaftlicher Assistent von Prof. Dr. Monika Roth.

are you afraid of thunderstorms?
hiking in the Alps these days is great fun, but thunderstorms are ubiquitous. this weekend a friend of mine did quite panic, when we blundered into thunder and lighting high up the hills. i'm afraid of many things but definitely not of thunderstorms. once an outdoor bloke told me that it's important to know the distance to the impact spot. every second between the flash and thunder is about 300m...so if there are two seconds between the impactzone is withing half a km and then you really should stick your legs together and go to your knees not touching the ground with your hands. in this position you're pretty save...

the storm below i saw at the topend of New Zealand, quite heavy when it hit the coast...more enjoyable to experience in the safe car... :-)

were the Germans, although the Turks made a great impression, not only on the field.
what a pitty the big Euro is over and i haven't really done any shooting of the event. yelling and dead drunken masses of fans wasn't really the thing i was after. i remember the worldcup in germany where i was thrilled trying to catch the atmosphere, but finally most of the images also compared to many other photographers were pretty much the same stereotype. i guess you should stick to one particular theme in the beginning. after this euro i exactly know what would have been interesting to do...there was a private operated fancamp in my hometown. i should have been there during the whole event...telling stories about the guy who wanted to do the business of his life with selling sunglasses not knowing that it would rain the first two weeks...and many many other stories in this little cosmos at the edge of this big event...but as i already mentioned...the EURO is history...
